Update: May Visa Bulletin

Following the State Department’s issuance of the May 2026 Visa Bulletin and the relevant USCIS announcement, employers and foreign national employees should take note of an important update.

For May 2026, USCIS will accept employment-based adjustment filings only under the Final Action Dates chart. For family-sponsored cases, USCIS will continue using the Dates for Filing chart.

That means individuals who were eligible to file an employment-based adjustment application in April 2026 should confirm that they are still current under the May Final Action Dates chart. Waiting too long can change filing strategy very quickly.

This is a good reminder that Visa Bulletin movement is not just a monthly update. It can directly affect when employers move forward, how employees plan, and whether a filing window stays open.

If your team is navigating employment-based filings, now is the time to review eligibility, timing, and next steps carefully.
